Law360, New York (November 10, 2003, 12:00 AM ET) -- China is drafting a national strategy on intellectual property rights to bolster patent filings and bring them in line with levels found in other major global economies, China Daily reported.
The aim is to revamp intellectual property legislation and strengthen the enforcement of copyright laws in five to ten years, Wang Jingchuan, commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), was quoted as saying at the 2003 Intellectual Property Strategy and Enterprises' Key Competitiveness Forum, which was organized by the Shanghai municipal government.
