Law360, New York (July 31, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill Tuesday that, if it becomes law, would overturn the Supreme Court's decision to limit the scope of pay discrimination claims.
The bill, known as the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, was approved by a 225-199 vote. Specifically, it would allow workers to reclaim lost pay if a claim is filed within 180 days of the issuance of a discriminatory paycheck, no matter when the initial violation took place.
