Wyo. Gov. Calls Interior's Fracking Rule Excessive

Law360, New York (April 16, 2012, 4:17 PM ET) -- A forthcoming U.S. Department of the Interior rule on hydraulic fracturing duplicates Wyoming’s regulations and threatens to make the regulatory process more cumbersome for the state and the industry, Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead said in a letter made public Monday.

Mead told Interior Secretary Ken Salazar that the proposed rule — expected to be published by the Bureau of Land Management in the coming weeks — overlapped with state rules that have been in place since 2010.
