Law360, New York (May 08, 2012, 6:31 PM ET) -- The American Medical Association on Monday became the latest organization to criticize Medicare's proposed Stage 2 meaningful-use requirements for electronic health records, faulting the proposed criteria as too cumbersome for effective physician participation.
Joined by 100 state and specialty medical societies, the AMA said it was supportive of widespread use of electronic health records by doctors, but said the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services was making the process unnecessarily difficult with the proposed rule.
