Law360, New York (May 11, 2012, 7:51 PM ET) -- An amendment that would have kept open four field offices of the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division failed to pass in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday.
The amendment to the 2013 appropriations bill was introduced by Reps. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., and John Lewis, D-Ga., in response to an announcement made in October by the Justice Department that it intended to shutter the Antitrust Division field offices in Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas and Philadelphia, according to Lewis.
