Law360, New York (June 01, 2012, 7:53 PM ET) -- Pharmacists are urging Congress to abandon plans to more heavily restrict hydrocodone, a popular opioid painkiller, arguing that such a move would cut off legitimate pain patients from needed medication and impose harsh burdens on pharmacies, according to a letter released Thursday.
The pharmacists, represented by five industry groups, are taking issue with a provision of the Senate version of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration user fee bill, which includes a slew of changes to laws governing prescription drugs.
