U.S., China Work To Stop Lead Paint In Toys

Law360, New York (September 12, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Responding to the recent high-profile recalls by Mattel Inc. and other children's product companies, China agreed on Tuesday to work toward completely eliminating the use of lead paint in toys exported to the United States.

The country's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine signed documents with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at a Consumer Product Safety Summit and agreed to take immediate action against the use of lead paint.
