Law360, New York (June 13, 2012, 7:44 PM ET) -- The latest target of Republican attacks on the health care reform law is a billion-dollar grant program to fund potential cost-cutting initiatives, the loss of which supporters say would significantly set back efforts to reduce health care spending.
Under the health care law, the grants are supposed to fund pilot programs in the private sector aimed at reducing spending and improving care. The administration can expand programs that prove successful without approval from Congress.
