Law360, New York (June 13, 2012, 6:41 PM ET) -- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Wednesday asked state attorneys general and higher education officials to help round up additional data on the private student loan industry that could be used to alter the regulatory landscape for the market.
The CFPB filed a notice and request for information with the Federal Register asking state agencies, institutions of higher education, consumer and legal advocates, lenders and other market participants to provide information about abuses and customer complaints regarding private student loans.
