NJ Senate OKs Gender Pay Bills Over Biz Objections

Law360, New York (June 22, 2012, 3:13 PM ET) -- The New Jersey Senate on Thursday approved a package of bills that would lengthen the statute of limitations for pay discrimination claims and impose other equal-pay mandates that some employers' groups say will open the door to disruptive litigation.

The four-bill package — which has cleared both houses — also prohibits disciplinary action for divulging pay information, requires employers to inform workers of their right to freedom from gender bias in pay and requires state contractors to file information on employee pay.
