USDA To Require Pork, DDG Exporters To Report Sales

Law360, New York (June 22, 2012, 9:17 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture will require producers of pork and distillers dried grains to report export sales of these products in an effort to increase transparency and provide more information on market conditions, according to a federal register notice to be published Monday.

Under the USDA’s proposed rule, exporters of fresh, chilled and frozen pork products, as well as producers of distillers dried grains, or DDG — most commonly used as animal feed — will submit weekly reports on their export sales under the requirements....
