Law360, New York (June 27, 2012, 9:45 PM ET) -- A trio of House Democrats introduced a bill Wednesday that would bar oil companies from receiving leases to develop federal lands unless they disclosed all their political contributions for the past five years.
U.S. House of Representatives Natural Resources Committee ranking member Ed Markey, D-Mass., and two colleagues floated the Obtaining Information through Leasing on Money and Disclosure Act, or Oil Disclosure Act, seeking to force oil majors to reveal their campaign spending in order to bid on public leases.
