Law360, New York (June 27, 2012, 4:37 PM ET) -- A California conference committee passed two bills Wednesday that ban so-called dual-track foreclosures and robosignings by lenders and advance the passage of the state's proposed Homeowner Bill of Rights, which aims to protect homeowners from foreclosure fraud.
The two-house conference committee gave the go-ahead to the Foreclosure Reduction Act and the Due Process Rights Act in a 4-1 vote. Assemblyman Don Wagner, R-Irvine, cast the dissenting vote, according to California Attorney General Kamala D. Harris' Office.
