Law360, New York (July 05, 2012, 6:46 PM ET) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proposed Thursday to adopt a series of revisions to the definition of the bulk electric system, a move the commission says will create consistent standards among the country’s electric reliability regions and strengthen the power grid.
In a Federal Register notice, FERC said it was seeking to implement the North American Electric Reliability Corp.’s revised definition of the bulk electric system, which would change the threshold for including transmission lines, generators and other so-called transmission elements.
