EU To Probe China's Possible Evasion Of Anti-Dumping Orders

Law360, New York (July 06, 2012, 7:21 PM ET) -- The European Commission on Thursday lodged a formal investigation of imports of silicon from China and Taiwan into the European Union, saying there are concerns that China is rerouting its silicon exports through Taiwan to avoid anti-dumping measures.

The EC received a request to investigate the imports in May from an association of European ferro-alloy producers called Euroalliages, on behalf of producers representing 100 percent of the EU production of silicon, according to the EC.
