Mass. Loosens Ban On Medical Device Co. Gifts To Doctors

Law360, New York (July 09, 2012, 6:04 PM ET) -- The medical device industry won a victory Sunday in Massachusetts, where it has a major presence, when Gov. Deval Patrick signed a law loosening the state's notoriously strict law barring drug and device makers from giving gifts to doctors.

Under the new law, device makers can cover “reasonable expenses” related to training doctors and other health care practitioners on how to use a medical device.
