Law360, New York (July 19, 2012, 7:03 PM ET) -- A bill introduced Thursday by two Republican senators would strip offshore oil and gas development oversight from the "conservation-focused" U.S. Department of the Interior and place it under the auspices of a revamped U.S. Department of Energy.
The bill, titled Department of Energy Reorganization Act, would remove energy development oversight from the DOI because the department is too focused on the pursuit of land conservation at the expense of “responsible energy production,” co-sponsors Sens.
