Bill Aims To Push Medicare Doc Pay Cuts Back Another Year

Law360, New York (July 19, 2012, 8:01 PM ET) -- One Republican lawmaker is trying to get a jump on the next “doc fix,” introducing a bill Wednesday that would delay the next round of cuts under the Medicare sustainable growth rate, due in January, for another year.

Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas, announced his intentions during a hearing Wednesday on permanently repealing the SGR, as physicians' groups and many lawmakers want to, and replacing it with a better way to pay physicians.
