Law360, New York (August 16, 2012, 10:54 PM ET) -- A Michigan judge on Thursday granted the Detroit Police Officers Association a temporary restraining order preventing the city from implementing pay cuts while the parties arbitrate a new collective bargaining agreement.
Judge John Murphy agreed with the union's contention that state law bars the city from changing wages, hours or working conditions of public employees while mandatory arbitration is in process.
“The court finds that the plaintiff will suffer immediate and irreparable injury, loss or damage in the absence of a temporary restraining order,” he said...
