Law360, Houston (September 17, 2012, 8:43 PM ET) -- A voting rights group on Friday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reinstate a Texas federal judge's decision to suspend state laws that place restrictions on voter registration, arguing the laws will keep millions of eligible voters from the polls in November.
Project Vote Inc. filed an emergency motion asking the high court to vacate the Fifth Circuit's decision to stay an injunction issued by U.S. District Judge Gregg Costa, which prevented the state from enforcing restrictions on third-party voter registration.
