Pa. Judge Extends Preliminary Injunction On Voter ID Law

Law360, New York (August 16, 2013, 6:21 PM ET) -- A Pennsylvania judge on Friday extended the preliminary injunction blocking the state's voter ID law from taking effect for November's elections and any subsequent elections until the Commonwealth Court issues a final appealable determination on the merits of the permanent injunction.

Judge Bernard McGinley extended the preliminary injunction initially issued by Commonwealth Court Judge Robert E. Simpson in October that blocked the state from implementing the controversial voter ID law known as Act 18 that opponents have challenged as resulting in voter disenfranchisement.
