Law360, New York (December 9, 2015, 11:37 AM EST) -- When the Uruguay Round was completed, members included a requirement for ministerial meetings every two years. So every other December, ministerials are held in a location agreed well in advance, usually following an offer to host by a World Trade Organization member. In two weeks, WTO members, advisors, nongovernmental organizations and media will assemble in Nairobi, Kenya for the 10th WTO Ministerial and the first such ministerial to be held in Africa. While there is no requirement that there be any major breakthroughs at a ministerial, the presence of the members trade ministers typically generates interest in having deliverables for the meeting.
