CPSC To Ponder New Regs After 1.6M Cribs Recalled

Law360, New York (October 21, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Federal regulators are urging parents to inspect the hardware and stability of their children's cribs after two infant deaths prompted Delta Enterprise Corp. Tuesday to recall about 1.6 million drop-side cribs with missing or defective parts.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said it plans to consider new mandatory performance requirements to address problems likes the ones detected in the Delta cribs, which caused two 8-month-old children to become trapped and suffocate.
