CPSC Chief To Press China On Drywall Regulation

Law360, New York (October 16, 2009, 6:11 PM ET) -- As the number of U.S. homeowners complaining of drywall contamination continues to rise, the head of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has said she will press Chinese officials on whether regulatory standards need to be set for drywall composition.

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that CPSC Chairwoman Inez Tenenbaum said she also planned to find out whether the Chinese were willing to provide compensation for the damage from tainted drywall.
