Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 8:48 PM ET) -- A New Jersey appeals court on Friday ruled that the state can seize more than $161 million that towns set aside for affordable housing but said it can't be done without prior notification, giving towns a chance to appeal.
Lawyers for the New Jersey State League of Municipalities and the Fair Share Housing Center went to court Friday seeking an injunction against the seizures, scheduled to begin Tuesday, that would have sent millions of unspent municipal housing dollars to the state's coffers.
