Law360, New York (July 20, 2012, 4:21 PM ET) -- Financial giant JPMorgan Chase Bank NA was hit with a proposed class action Wednesday seeking more than $1 million from it and a debt collection company for allegedly continuing to hound California homeowners for debts it waived off in a short sale.
Two San Francisco residents claim the bank is attempting to recoup a debt it no longer holds any rights to and is violating the California Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by continuing to seek reimbursement.
