Law360, New York (December 21, 2012, 3:55 PM ET) -- A former director for the North Bergen, N.J., Housing Authority on Thursday pled guilty to extorting thousands of dollars from employees of a maintenance company contracted by the municipality.
John T. Kennell, 49, pled guilty in front of U.S. District Judge Jose L. Linares to a charge of extortion under color of official right and by fear of economic harm, federal prosecutors said. The charge carries a maximum 20-year prison sentence and $250,000 fine.
