Fla. Bill Aims To Speed Permitting For Manufacturing Plants

Law360, Miami (February 05, 2013, 7:39 PM ET) -- A Florida state senator on Monday filed the Manufacturing Competitiveness Act, which would expedite state agency review of permit applications for manufacturing plants and allow for default approval of permits if agencies fail to meet a 60-day deadline — a provision that has environmental groups worried.

Sen. Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, introduced S.B. 582, which would allow counties and municipalities to adopt a local manufacturing development program under which manufacturers could get master plan approval for sites.
