Daytona Speedway Tax Breaks OK'd By Fla. Senate Panel

Law360, Miami (April 08, 2013, 5:50 PM ET) -- A Florida Senate committee unanimously passed a bill Monday that would provide tax breaks for a $250 million renovation project at Daytona International Speedway and would allow the motorsports entertainment complex to get tax breaks available to other professional sports teams.

The Senate Committee on Commerce and Tourism passed S.B. 1394, which would exempt the building materials used for the planned renovation of the home of NASCAR's Daytona 500 and would authorize the complex to get sales tax refunds on items sold on-site that currently apply...
