By Natalie Rodriguez (August 4, 2015, 2:33 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. reportedly paid $138 million for a 40-acre piece of land in San Jose, where it plans to build new research and development space, as well as some offices, according to two Silicon Valley Business Journal reports on Tuesday and late Monday, citing local records for the deal and Apple representatives for the development plan. Lowe Enterprises and Five Mile Capital Partners are said to have sold the property, which is entitled for up to 2.8 million square feet of office development, and the deal comes after Apple leased a 290,000-square-foot building nearby, according to the report....
