Former Vivendi Boss To Stand Trial In France

Law360, New York (October 22, 2009, 4:56 PM ET) -- An investigative magistrate judge in Paris has decided to press criminal charges against former Vivendi SA CEO Jean-Marie Messier and six others accused of misleading investors and manipulating stock prices, the company said Thursday.

The order earlier this month by French magistrate Jean-Marie d'Huy will put Messier on trial for allegedly divulging misleading information to shareholders, manipulating stock prices and misusing company funds, according to court documents obtained by Reuters.
