Galleon Defendants Say Feds Used Improper Wiretaps

Law360, New York (June 01, 2010, 7:09 PM ET) -- Bigwigs caught up in the Galleon Group insider trading scandal — including former Ropes & Gray LLP attorney Arthur Cutillo — are crying foul, arguing the government improperly used wiretaps and is now misconstruing the facts of the case to make them look guilty.

The insider trading case raises fundamental questions about what constitutes a crime and how courts should permit an investigation of that crime, the defendants said in a memorandum filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York....
