Ex-Monster General Counsel Pleads Guilty To Fraud

Law360, New York (February 16, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The former general counsel of job-posting Web site Monster has admitted to backdating options and agreed to cooperate with the ongoing investigation into the company.

Myron Olesnyckyj admitted that he had participated in a scheme to backdate options for high-ranking Monster executives, including himself. Olesnycki pled guilty to securities fraud and conspiracy to commit securities fraud and agreed to disgorge $381,000 in ill-gotten gains.

Olesnyckyj also agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors in their ongoing probe into the alleged fraud at Monster.
