Madoff Family Seeks To Shut Down $200M Lawsuit

Law360, New York (October 06, 2010, 3:42 PM ET) -- Lawyers for family members of Bernard L. Madoff sought to fend off a litigation trustee's $200 million avoidance action on Wednesday, arguing that the Ponzi schemer's sons should be lauded — not sued — for turning in their father.

Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP attorney Martin Flumenbaum, who is representing Madoff's sons Mark D. and Andrew H. Madoff, argued for the dismissal of the suit before Judge Burton R. Lifland in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
