Law360, New York (January 12, 2011, 7:56 PM ET) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has made a new plea for immediate access to wiretap recordings from suspected insider trading ring participants Raj Rajaratnam and Danielle Chiesi, who are also facing criminal charges.
The agency filed a memorandum with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday saying it would be unfair to make the SEC wait for the recordings until their criminal trials take place. Rajaratnam's trial, scheduled first, is expected to begin Feb. 28.
