CFTC Names Director Of New Whistleblower Office

Law360, New York (January 06, 2012, 3:28 PM ET) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Friday named Vincente Martinez to serve as the first director of its new Whistleblower Office, which will reward people who come forward with information about Commodity Exchange Act violations.

The office was mandated by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. It will award individuals who provide information that leads to a successful enforcement action that results in more than $1 million in sanctions.
