Law360, New York (April 09, 2012, 6:18 PM ET) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday unveiled a new 21-member investor advisory group mandated by the Dodd-Frank financial overhaul to advise the agency on a host of shareholder issues.
The advisory committee, previously delayed because of budgetary issues, will recommend policy changes related to securities products, trading strategies, fee structures and the effectiveness of disclosure, among other issues, according the SEC. It will also recommend ways to protect investors and promote confidence in the markets, the agency said.
