FINRA Hires Former SEC Official As Chief Counsel

Law360, New York (May 04, 2012, 3:07 PM ET) -- The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has hired as its head attorney Robert Colby, the former deputy director of a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission division, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Colby will leave his current position at Davis Polk & Wardwell to succeed T. Grant Callery, general counsel at FINRA, who is retiring, and Marc Menchel, FINRA's general counsel for regulation, who is leaving the agency, the Journal said.
