Ohio State Rep. Indicted For Securities Fraud

Law360, Chicago (July 19, 2013, 6:49 PM ET) -- An Ohio lawmaker and his business partner were indicted Friday on securities fraud and theft charges for allegedly duping investors into pouring around $200,000 into their tanking software company, Christopher Technologies LLC.

State Rep. Peter A. Beck, a Republican from outside Cincinnati and CTech’s chief financial officer, faces 16 felony counts and up to 102 years in prison if convicted, according to a statement from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters, who are handling the case together.
