Martha Stewart Still Guilty, Appeals Court Finds

Law360, New York (January 06, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Cooking and gardening mogul Martha Stewart, who served five months in prison for insider trading, has failed in her bid to have her conviction overturned by an appeals court.

In a 74-page ruling, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Stewart’s challenge failed to provide a basis to "disturb the jury's verdict."

But the appeals court ruled that the sentencing of Stewart’s stockbroker, Peter Bacanovic, could be reviewed.
