Law360, New York (February 01, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- U.S. lawmakers are considering proposals to regulate the credit rating agencies that played a role in the downfall of companies such as Enron and WorldCom.
The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs will hold a hearing in March on the subject of credit rating agency regulation, according to statement by committee Chairman Richard Shelby.
The hearing will come a little more than a year after the committee initially broached the topic in a congressional hearing.
