Judge Drops Some Claims In Atmel Backdating Case

Law360, New York (June 26, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A judge has dismissed some claims and refused to toss others in a derivative lawsuit alleging that directors and officers of Atmel Corp. backdated stock options.

In a ruling handed down Wednesday, Judge Jeremy Fogel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California allowed most of the contested parts of the amended complaint to stand, but dismissed a securities violation claim against former Executive Vice President Gust Perlegos and said some claims were time-barred.
