Firms, Bar Recover From Kickback Prosecution

Law360, New York (August 01, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Despite a kickback scandal that led to prison time for two of its most renowned attorneys, Milberg LLP and Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP — and the plaintiffs bar itself — remain resourceful adversaries, according to lawyers and representatives of the firms.

The two law firms that lost the most from the downfall of William Lerach and Melvyn Weiss report that by the measures of lead plaintiff counsel appointments and bank account-busting settlements, they are doing just fine.
