Implant Maker Zimmer Hit With Securities Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (August 06, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A purported securities fraud class action filed Tuesday against orthopedic implant maker Zimmer Holdings Inc. is accusing the company and two of its officers of making false and misleading statements that caused the company's stock to artificially inflate, then plummet.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana by Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 719 Pension Fund, alleges that the defendants violated the Securities Exchange Act when they disseminated false information about the company's results and operations.
