SEC Report Questions Impartiality Of Pequot Probe

Law360, New York (October 07, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- An inquiry by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's inspector general reportedly says the commission should consider disciplining its director of enforcement and two supervisors over their handling of the insider trading investigation of hedge fund Pequot Capital Management.

A reinvestigative report by Inspector General H. David Kotz said there was evidence of “serious questions about the impartiality and fairness” of the Pequot investigation, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
