Last Suit Over AOL Time Warner Merger Dismissed

Law360, New York (December 01, 2009, 3:45 PM ET) -- A federal judge has thrown out the last of hundreds of lawsuits stemming from AOL Inc. and Time Warner Inc.'s 2001 merger, granting Ernst & Young's motion to dismiss a shareholder's complaint alleging it failed to link the auditor's statements to investor losses.

U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon of the Southern District of New York on Monday dismissed private investor Dominic Amorosa's complaint against Ernst & Young, saying the auditor did not cause any of the losses suffered by the plaintiff.
