EU Clears $6B Xerox-ACS Merger

Law360, New York (January 20, 2010, 8:10 AM ET) -- Having received the go-ahead from antitrust regulators in Europe, the fate of Xerox Corp.’s $6 billion acquisition of business process outsourcing giant Affiliated Computer Services Inc. now rests in the hands of the companies’ shareholders.

The European Commission cleared the deal Tuesday, concluding that the merger of Xerox’s document production business with ACS’ business processing services would not significantly impair competition in Europe.
