Law360, New York (March 10, 2010, 6:47 PM ET) -- A judge has recommended that the Illinois Commerce Commission reject Frontier Communications Corp.’s proposed $8.5 billion acquisition of Verizon Communications Inc.'s local line business in 14 states, saying the deal would likely lead to a drop in service quality.
Administrative Law Judge Lisa M. Tapia filed a recommendation Monday styled as a proposed order from the commission. A representative for the commission noted that the agency will still need to vote on whether to approve the deal.
