Novell Handed Off Windows Antitrust Claims: Judge

Law360, New York (March 31, 2010, 6:36 PM ET) -- Despite finding merit to one of Novell Inc.’s claims, a judge has thrown out the software company’s monopolization case against Microsoft Corp., finding that the company signed away its rights when it previously sold assets to Caldera Inc., now known as The SCO Group Inc.

Judge J. Frederick Motz issued a ruling Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland closing out the final case in a multidistrict litigation concerning Microsoft’s dominance in the operating system and other programming markets.
