Law360, New York (October 28, 2010, 2:12 PM ET) -- The Carlyle Group has struck a deal to shell out about $2.6 billion to acquire voice and data service provider Syniverse Technologies, scooping up its second telecommunications company in as many days.
The asset management firm's latest purchase, announced Thursday, comes just one day after Carlyle said it would buy telecommunications equipment company CommScope Inc. in a deal valued at about $3.9 billion.
As with the CommScope agreement, Carlyle will take Tampa, Fl.-based Syniverse private, the target company said.
